Dinner Is Served

"Ah the rich are getting richer"
and a fool will ask...
"How do you know this...
have you ever been to dinner
in one of their homes...do
you even know what it means to be called rich?"

Ah, the fool wishes to one day
be rich himself and isn't
willing to condemn his idols,
or the means by which they achieved
this supposed greatness and esteem.

The fool cant look behind himself
Or admit his own simple, upbringing.
And I sit...
Lower and middle, watching one side
despising the other.
I know which way the cards will fall...
As the fool fondles his aspirations
and the rich-man counts his fortunes.
Dinner is being served.
Here and there.
Hot and cold.
And the rich-man is deciding
what the fool should be eating
and also where he will be eating.
